EKJUT (A MOTHER'S PROMISE)

SYNOPSIS:
Ekjut understood the mental, social and cultural fabric of tribal communities in Jharkhand and Orissa to design community based interventions that target health issues. The film profiles their efforts and the community’s participation to marry traditional wisdom of medicine with modern practices in order to tackle infant mortality and maternal deaths.

This film is a part of a series of 8 films produced for The MacArthur Foundation that takes a look at innovations saving the lives of thousands of new mothers and their babies across India. This series profiles grassroots level stories of change and impact that can be scaled and implemented across the country.
